The Nokia X6 will be re-branded as "Nokia 6.1 Plus" and launched as a global variant with the only difference of software.
Let's have a look at the specifications of Nokia 6.1 Plus/ Nokia X6. The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. This will be the first smartphone from Nokia to feature a "Notch Design". Nokia 6.1 Plus also features 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Under the hood, Nokia 6.1 Plus features Snapdragon 636 that was first seen in Xiaomi Redmi Note 5/ Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is a very efficient processor. Though, I would have been much more excited if it came with Snapdragon 660 SoC which is coming up with Xiaomi Mi A2, to stay in the competition of mid-range devices.
The devices come with 4GB Ram and 64GB of expandable storage by a micro-SD card of up to 400GB. Talking about camera department, The Nokia X6 features a dual rear camera in a vertical position in the center position, providing a unique look rather than just copying Apple's design of vertical camera in a top left position which is being copy-pasted by Xiaomi this year. There is a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 and a 5-megapixel f/2.4 secondary sensor. On the front, we get a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 for selfies. There is a 3060 MaH of battery which is supported by fast charging.
Talking about software, the regular Nokia X6 launched in China doesn't come up with a stock Android but with this global variant, we will get to see stock Android & Android One Programme that promises us of over 2 major Android updates.
The specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus looks top-notch in the budget segment, There could have been a slightly better Snapdragon 660 SoC and a larger 4000 MaH of battery, other than that there is nothing to complain about it except the pricing. The Nokia 6.1 Plus provides a new unique look for HMD global upcoming smartphones, a 19:9 aspect ratio panel, beautiful glass back, Android One programme makes it amazing.

Talking about release date & pricing of Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Nokia 6.1 Plus to expected to see a global launch on July 24 with a price tag of $292. I wouldn't say the Nokia 6.1 Plus is overpriced, I think its just fine. They are providing good price to performance ratio, though adding just a $50 more, you can buy Nokia 7.1 Plus which comes with more upgraded specifications.
But there is also a strong competition between the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Xiaomi Mi A2, I wrote a detailed article on Xiaomi Mi A2 & Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, Both devices will be coming very soon in the market with Android One Programme. The pricing for Mi A2 was not confirmed yet, though, some online retailers were charging a bit more than expected. So we have to wait for the official announcement for pricing of the Mi A2 to decide the winner.
As of now, the online retailers have priced the Xiaomi Mi A2 of $320 for 4GB/64GB variant, which makes it slightly higher than the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Though it comes with a Snapdragon 660 SoC but again adding $30, It will have to compete with Nokia 7.1 which comes with Snapdragon 710 SoC.
In the end, I would say you can go for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5/Pro if Android One is not your concern. But if you want stock Android then either go with the Nokia 6.1 Plus or the Mi A2, but if Mi A2 is launched at $320 then I would suggest you go with Nokia 7.1 Plus.
