Hence, they have decided to go for their own operating system they called "IndeoenOS" or "HongMeng OS", and if you know how to pronounce this silly name properly do type in comments section. It would have been better naming it just "Huawei OS", anyways, it is being called "Project Z" for now. Project Z is said to be coming up not just for mobile devices but also for computers, tablets, cars and wearables that might show up early next year for other devices but for now, they should release mobile OS as soon as possible.
Project Z is said to rely on 3rd party developers to create apps for it, most probably it will support Android apps. If you remember, Samsung also came up with an idea of their own operating system they called Tizen that also supported Android apps, the idea here will be similar here but Huawei will be permanently switching to it's own OS so it will either fail or succeed, that will already be decided at the launch. I hope it succeed, we need to have more competition in the mobile OS market. iOS is in a league of it's own and Windows have ended support for it's mobile OS, now I hope Project Z gives some tough competition, though it will be hard as Google is like a god-father in this digital world.
Project Z is called "far more than completed" by Huawei, and will be coming this fall or early next year. Huawei Honor 20, 20 Pro & 20 Lite are launched today despite of the Google ban, this might be the last launch of Huawei with Android OS. Huawei Honor 20 and 20 Pro are looking good with decent specifications that could have give good competition to One Plus 7 & One Plus 7 Pro. But sadly, I don't think anyone will buy them. People are already selling their Huawei devices for a lot less, some are scared that their phone might lose Google services.
According to sources, Huawei was going to be number one mobile phone manufacturer in 2020, but sometimes your destiny take un-expected turns. Who knows Huawei still might get number one mobile phone manufacturer in 2020 with their own operating system and becomes another tech giant. Huawei proved it's capabilities in the market by making their own excellent smartphones with great camera quality and features that even big companies like Apple, and Samsung didn't had that time and they copied it in next generation of their smartphones. Like reverse wireless charging that was first introduced by Huawei and then Samsung used it in their next gen flagship Galaxy S10 devices. Huawei wasn't a typical Chinese company that is a copy-cat, and that is my favorite thing about Huawei.
Google told Huawei users that Play Store and Google services will still run on existing Huawei devices, Google is under-pressure of US to ban Huawei they also know how great Huawei has achieved by using Android. Let's just hope for the best for Huawei, and pray that they doesn't fail like Nokia did with Windows OS.
