This time around we got two smartphones from OnePlus at a time, that is unusual as Oneplus usually launches one smartphone at a time and launches the re-fined version of earlier phone with an "T". This time we got a normal OnePlus 7 edition that starts at around $550 and it's older brother Oneplus 7 Pro starts at $669. This is not a minor price difference between both phones, and another phone can be priced in the middle of both. And here is my concept of Oneplus 7T.
Both the devices i.e Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7 Pro have excellent price to performance ratios, both are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 paired with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage on the base variant. Oneplus 7 comes with 6.41" optic AMOLED display with tear drop notch carrying 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The device has 85% screen to body ratio. On the other hand, Oneplus 7 Pro carries 6.67" with fluid AMOLED display, and have capablities of up-to 90Hz refresh rate. Oneplus 7 pro have 88% screen to body ratio and the display on the Oneplus 7 Pro is amazing.
The Oneplus 7 Pro's main high-light is it's display, OnePlus have implemented pop-up selfie camera system on the 7 Pro that means more screen to body ratio. Don't worry, the pop-up camera on the Oneplus 7 Pro is reliable, Oneplus uploaded a video showing how reliable the pop-up camera system on the Oneplus 7 Pro, and it also goes back if the phone detects any fall. There is also an 16-megapixel sensor on the 7 Pro and 48-megapixel main sensor, 16-megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
While OnePlus 7 carries dual-camera setup on the rear of 48-megapixel lens and 5-megapixel depth sensor. Oneplus 7 carries 3700 mAH battery while Oneplus 7 Pro carries 4000 mAH battery, both are supported by Dash Charging that charges from 0% to 50% in only 20 minutes. Both devices comes with in-display fingerprint scanner and also with face recognition. Both ways of unlock security have been improved than previous generation.
If someone asks which device is best in the budget, Oneplus 7 Pro is a clear answer but if cameras are concerned than my answer would change to Google Pixel or even Samsung Galaxy S10 family. Oneplus should focus on the cameras in the next generation and that is my only wish-list for the next Oneplus smartphones.
Strong competition for Oneplus may lead for another phone that also improves camera quality alot, as the camera quality on Oneplus 7 series was average. Also, I would say Oneplus 7 is having less improvements, maybe they should launch another phone soon with better camera quality and price between $550-$600. Oneplus 7T can opt for punch-hole display, that would be nicer to see on a high-end phone than a tear drop notch. And adding wire-less charging to the next generation of Oneplus smartphones will be a delight.
